T-Mobile displaces Orange as key news maker in Windows Mobile phones and shows SDA II music in flesh |

While previously Orange was the main news maker in Windows Mobile phones, now it seems that T-Mobile has taken over this role. Orange is owned by France Telecom but it is still headquarted in UK. T-Mobile is headquarted in Germany and is a the second largest operator globally (after Vodafone that is UK headquarted). The fact is that despite having leading position in British market, globally Orange is just one of the smaller operators.

Orange France Expands EDGE Services with Nortel |

Orange France has launched a new high-speed mobile service which covers 85 percent of French inhabitants. The Central and Southern France regions operate on a solution provided by Nortel. Using EDGE (Enhanced Data Rate for GSM Evolution) technology which enables speeds from 100 to 200 Kilobytes per second, Orange business customers can now connect simply and easily to their company network, pick up their e-mails, surf the Internet and their Intranet, and access business applications three times faster than currently available on GPRS (General Packet Radio Service)

A joint venture with Sanyo has resulted in a hybrid battery and fuel cell system that works for laptops and could find its way into phones
IBM and Sanyo have put together a prototype of a fuel cell system for ThinkPad notebooks.
The methanol-based fuel cell is designed to work with most standard ThinkPad systems and could provide power for up to eight hours, the companies said Monday.

Ericsson sues Sendo |

The Swedish handset maker wants the British firm to stop making and marketing phones, due to alleged infringement of GSM and GPRS handset technology patents
Sweden's Ericsson has sued UK-based mobile phone firm Sendo for infringements on its GSM and GPRS handset technology patents, the telecom equipment maker has said.
Ericsson said in a statement on Wednesday it wanted monetary damages from the privately held firm as well as an injunction against the continued sale and marketing of Sendo's mobile phones.
