Audiovox GDX-250 is announced in 2001
Design
The latter quickly became immensely popular and also the manufacturer's flagship, but with the advent of the GDX-250, Audiovox has finally entrenched itself as an important player in the market for experienced users, the Audiovox GDX-250 is slender and not very compact handset at 109 x 44 x 23 mm and 110 grams. The black and white display is ideal for text, messages and simple pictures like logos and picture massages. The display resolution 94 x 48 pixel is not very high but is normal for low class phone.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker. Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the GDX-250's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Audiovox handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.
Ergonomics
The GDX-250 lies well in ones hand.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Audiovox handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.Unfortunately, the keypad of the Audiovox GDX-250 emits excess noise, but on the bright side its keys have been comfortably spaced and sized. We're not entirely happy with the design of the navigational pad and its adjacent buttons, however, as distinguishing between these less easy than it ought to be.And last, but not least, a simple two-way navigation buttons centered below the display.
Features
Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Audiovox GDX-250 has to offer: there's also support for and a range of applications such as all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of and spacious phone book..
Performance
Audio quality on the GDX-250 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 650 mAh NI-MH battery is rated for 2 hours talk time or 120 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 97 minutes.
Availability
The Audiovox GDX-250 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Audiovox GDX-250 is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Audiovox design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws. |
