 CK Telecom Hi-Phone is announced in 2004
Design
Having gained fresh wind in its sails over the course of the past year or so, CK has certainly made its mark on phone sale hit lists recently, the CK Telecom Hi-Phone is a very slender and compact handset at 87 x 59 x 21 mm and 60 grams. The black and white display is ideal for text, messages and simple pictures like logos and picture massages.The display resolution 94 x 65 pixel is not very high but is normal for small phone like this.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker.There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all CK handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.
Ergonomics
The Telecom Hi-Phone is not comfortable for hold in ones hand because it is too wide.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent CK handsets.The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial.Its keypad is as pleasing in use as its chassis is on the eyes: tactile feedback is excellent and all buttons are placed in a logical manner - quite a feat, considering Telecom Hi-Phone's knack for quirky keypads.And last,but not least, a simple two-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the CK Telecom Hi-Phone has to offer: there's also support for and a range of applications such as Java MIDP 2.0, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of and spacious phone book..
Performance
Audio quality on the Telecom Hi-Phone was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 550 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 2 hours talk time or 60 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 82 minutes.
Availability
The CK Telecom Hi-Phone is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
CK's Telecom Hi-Phone is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from CK. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable. |
