LG 600 is announced in 2002

Design

The classic style of LG design in areas of shape, colour and design, weighing in at 90 g and measuring 80 x 44 x 24 mm, the 600 is petite and relatively lightweight. The black and white display is ideal for text, messages and simple pictures like logos and picture massages. The display resolution 128 x 90 pixel is not very high but is normal for small phone like this.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker.
Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the 600's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all LG handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.

Ergonomics

The 600 lies well in ones hand.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent LG handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.Unfortunately, the keypad of the LG 600 emits excess noise, but on the bright side its keys have been comfortably spaced and sized. We're not entirely happy with the design of the navigational pad and its adjacent buttons, however, as distinguishing between these less easy than it ought to be.And last, but not least, a four-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

Features

Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the LG 600 has to offer: there's also support for SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , a voice recorder, FAX/Modem, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of and spacious phone book..

Performance

Audio quality on the 600 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 600 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 2.3 hours talk time or 150 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 90 minutes.

Availability

The LG 600 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Conclusion

LG's 600 is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from LG. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable.
