Maxon MX-C60 is announced in 2003
Design
Maxon's MX-C60 has a standard design for this class handsets, measuring 45 x 80 x 22 mm and 85 grams. Despite the weight it has a good feel in the hand, and the good shaped plastic body and styled highlights give it an attractive and nice look. The 16 bit - color display which is a little milky, dim and uneven, as well as having lower resolution than usual. The display resolution 128 x 128 pixel which is standart resolution for more mobile phones.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker. Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the MX-C60's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Maxon handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.
Ergonomics
The MX-C60 is not comfortable for hold in ones hand because it is too wide.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Maxon handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial.
Features
In the WAN department, the MX-C60 boasts healthy support for Tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as Java MIDP 2.0, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book..
Performance
Audio quality on the MX-C60 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 900 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 3 hours talk time or 200 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 135 minutes.
Availability
The Maxon MX-C60 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Maxon's MX-C60 is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Maxon. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable. |
