Motorola V600 is announced in 2003

Design

Motorola V600 handset is a distinctive-looking clamshell. Measures 87 x 47 x 23 mm in size and weighing 95 grams, it is light and feels very slender despite its size.A secound 96 x 48 pixel, 2 display dominates the front cover, and although not the clearest external display we've seen it is still quite functional. The 16 bit - color display which is a little milky, dim and uneven, as well as having lower resolution than usual. The display resolution 176 x 220 pixel ideal for small and smart phone.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker, while on the other side we find a dedicated camera button. There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Motorola handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.

Ergonomics

The V600 is comfortable to hold and lies well in ones hand.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Motorola handsets. The plastic keypad has very limited key travel and jiggles independently of the phone, giving it a cheap feel while oddly designed buttons, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary. And last, but not least, a five-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

Features

In the WAN department, the V600 boasts healthy support for Quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Email client, Java MIDP 1.0, a voice recorder, FAX/Modem, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of bluetooth high speed small range wireless device.GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book.

As previously mentioned, the V600 is also equipped with a 0.3 megapixel camera support for picture-taking and when it comes to storage the V600 offers 5 MB which is dynamically shared between images and J2ME applications.

Performance

Audio quality on the V600 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 700 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 7 hours talk time or 230 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 105 minutes.

Availability

The Motorola V600 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Conclusion

Motorola V600 is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Motorola design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws.
