Nokia 7650 is announced in 2002

Design

Although it measures a distinctly petite 114 x 56 x 26 mm, and weighs 154 g, the Nokia 7650 looks even bigger although than it is the sliding design it adopts. The 4096-color display is dim, not very bright and crisp, but is a far step above the very dim 256-color versions on even the most recent Nokia models. The display resolution 176 x 208 pixel ideal for small and smart phone.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker, while on the other side we find a dedicated camera button.
Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the 7650's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Nokia handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.

Ergonomics

The 7650 is not comfortable for hold in ones hand because it is too wide.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Nokia handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, giving it a cheap feel while oddly designed buttons, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial. And last, but not least, a five-way joystick centered below the display.

Features

Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Nokia 7650 has to offer: there's also support for HSCSD, GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Email client, Java MIDP 1.0, voice commands, a voice recorder, FAX/Modem, Loud Speaker, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of infrared old wireless device, bluetooth high speed small range wireless device.GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, HSCSD support gives more speed when you browse with your mobile browser, and spacious phone book.

As previously mentioned, the 7650 is also equipped with a 0.3 megapixel camera support for picture-taking and audio/video recording, as well as an integrated MP3 player. The latter of which is also the reason for why the 4 MB of internal memory, which initially appears spacious, is quickly stretched to its limits. MP3 and MPEG4 are both formats which can be stored for playback on the Nokia 7650.

Unfortunately, neither Memory Stick Duo format or any other method of memory expansion is supported by the 7650, meaning users find themselves drawn by the MP3 playback capabilities will also quickly - and repeatedly - drawn to their PC and USB cable for updating ones playlist.

Performance

Audio quality on the 7650 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 750 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 4 hours talk time or 230 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 112 minutes.

Availability

The Nokia 7650 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Conclusion

Nokia 7650 is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Nokia design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws.
