Sagem MY C-2 is announced in 2003
Design
The classic style of Sagem design in areas of shape, colour and design, weighing in at 90 g and measuring 82 x 42 x 23 mm, the MY C-2 is petite and relatively lightweight. The 256-color display unfortunately suffers from a very grainy appearance. The grainyness is not a problem when displaying text, however, just images - and due to the MY C-2 first and foremost being a color phone, this is less of a problem than it could have been. The display resolution 101 x 80 pixel is not very high but is normal for small phone like this.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker. There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Sagem handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.
Ergonomics
The MY C-2 lies well in ones hand.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Sagem handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.Unfortunately, the keypad of the Sagem MY C-2 emits excess noise, but on the bright side its keys have been comfortably spaced and sized. We're not entirely happy with the design of the navigational pad and its adjacent buttons, however, as distinguishing between these less easy than it ought to be.And last, but not least, a simple two-way navigation buttons centered below the display.
Features
Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Sagem MY C-2 has to offer: there's also support for SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , 16-channels polyphony, FAX/Modem, Loud Speaker, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of and spacious phone book..
Performance
Audio quality on the MY C-2 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 700 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 3 hours talk time or 190 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 105 minutes.
Availability
The Sagem MY C-2 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Sagem's MY C-2 is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Sagem. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable. |
