Sagem MY C-5w is announced in 2003

Design

Sagem's MY C-5w has a standard design for this class handsets, measuring 44 x 88 x 20 mm and 80 grams. Despite the weight it has a good feel in the hand, and the good shaped plastic body and styled highlights give it an attractive and nice look. The 256-color display unfortunately suffers from a very grainy appearance. The grainyness is not a problem when displaying text, however, just images - and due to the MY C-5w first and foremost being a color phone, this is less of a problem than it could have been. The display resolution 101 x 80 pixel is not very high but is normal for small phone like this.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker. There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Sagem handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.

Ergonomics

The MY C-5w is not comfortable for hold in ones hand because it is too wide.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Sagem handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial.

Features

Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Sagem MY C-5w has to offer: there's also support for GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Java MIDP 2.0, 16-channels polyphony, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of infrared old wireless device,GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book..

Performance

Audio quality on the MY C-5w was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 1000 mAh Li-pol battery is rated for 3 hours talk time or 200 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 150 minutes.

Availability

The Sagem MY C-5w is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Conclusion

Sagem's MY C-5w is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Sagem. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable.
