 Samsung E800 is announced in 2004
Design
Although it measures a distinctly petite 87 x 43 x 23 mm, and weighs 86 g, the Samsung E800 looks even smaller than it is thanks to the sliding design it adopts.The 16 bit - color display which is a little milky, dim and uneven, as well as having lower resolution than usual.The display resolution 128 x 160 pixel ideal for small and smart phone.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker.There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Samsung handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.
Ergonomics
The E800 lies well in ones hand.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Samsung handsets.The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.And last,but not least, a five-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

In the WAN department, the E800 boasts healthy support for Tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as GPRS (class 4), SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Email client, Java MIDP 2.0, 64-channels polyphony, voice commands, a voice recorder, FAX/Modem, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of infrared old wireless device,GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book.
As previously mentioned, the E800 is also equipped with and audio/video recording, as well as an integrated MP3 player.The latter of which is also the reason for why the 0 MB of internal memory, which initially appears spacious, is quickly stretched to its limits. MP3 and MPEG4 are both formats which can be stored for playback on the Samsung E800.

Performance
Audio quality on the E800 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 700 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 3.5 hours talk time or 160 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 105 minutes.

The Samsung E800 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Samsung's E800 is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Samsung. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable. |
