Samsung SGH-2400 is announced in 1999
Design
The classic style of Samsung design in areas of shape, colour and design, weighing in at 90 g and measuring 108 x 45 x 19 mm, the SGH-2400 is petite and relatively lightweight. The black and white display is ideal for text, messages and simple pictures like logos and picture massages. The display resolution 96 x 64 pixel is not very high but is normal for low class phone.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker. There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Samsung handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.
Ergonomics
The SGH-2400 lies well in ones hand.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Samsung handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.Unfortunately, the keypad of the Samsung SGH-2400 emits excess noise, but on the bright side its keys have been comfortably spaced and sized. We're not entirely happy with the design of the navigational pad and its adjacent buttons, however, as distinguishing between these less easy than it ought to be.And last, but not least, a four-way navigation buttons centered below the display.
Features
Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Samsung SGH-2400 has to offer: there's also support for SMS, .and spacious phone book..
Performance
Audio quality on the SGH-2400 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 840 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 4 hours talk time or 76 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 126 minutes.
Availability
The Samsung SGH-2400 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Samsung's SGH-2400 is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Samsung. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable. |
