Sierra-Wireless Voq A11 is announced in 2004
Design
Sierra-Wireless's Voq A11 - one of few models from Sierra-Wireless featuring a more traditional candy bar design, the Sierra-Wireless Voq A11 is heavy and little big handset at 133 x 53 x 23 mm and 145 grams. The 16 bit - color display which is a little milky, dim and uneven, as well as having lower resolution than usual. The display resolution 220 x 176 pixel ideal for small and smart phone.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker. There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Sierra-Wireless handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.
Ergonomics
The Voq A11 is not comfortable for hold in ones hand because it is too wide.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Sierra-Wireless handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, giving it a cheap feel while oddly designed buttons, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial. Its keypad is as pleasing in use as its chassis is on the eyes: tactile feedback is excellent and all buttons are placed in a logical manner - quite a feat, considering Voq A11's knack for quirky keypads. And last, but not least, a five-way joystick centered below the display.
Features
In the WAN department, the Voq A11 boasts healthy support for Quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Email client, Java MIDP 2.0, voice commands, a voice recorder, FAX/Modem, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of infrared old wireless device,GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book.
As previously mentioned, the Voq A11 is also equipped with , as well as an integrated MP3 player. The latter of which is also the reason for why the 0 MB of internal memory, which initially appears spacious, is quickly stretched to its limits. The Voq A11 also comes with an Secure Digital (SD) and Multi Media Card (MMC) expansion slot located under its battery,a 16-128 MB card comes bundled in the sales package, more space for images audio and video files, less time for PC and communication cable for updating internal memory,
Performance
Audio quality on the Voq A11 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 700 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 6 hours talk time or 100 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 105 minutes.
Availability
The Sierra-Wireless Voq A11 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Sierra-Wireless Voq A11 is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Sierra-Wireless design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws. |
