Telit G82 is announced in 2002

Design

The classic style of Telit design in areas of shape, colour and design, weighing in at 90 g and measuring 114 x 53 x 27 mm, the G82 is petite and relatively lightweight. The 4096-color display is dim, not very bright and crisp, but is a far step above the very dim 256-color versions on even the most recent Telit models. The display resolution 128 x 96 pixel is not very high but is normal for low class phone.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker.
Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the G82's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Telit handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.

Ergonomics

The G82 is not comfortable for hold in ones hand because it is too wide.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Telit handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial. Its keypad is as pleasing in use as its chassis is on the eyes: tactile feedback is excellent and all buttons are placed in a logical manner - quite a feat, considering G82's knack for quirky keypads. And last, but not least, a simple two-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

Features

In the WAN department, the G82 boasts healthy support for Tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Email client, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book..

Performance

Audio quality on the G82 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 550 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 6 hours talk time or 250 hours standby, which is very good for battery's theoretical capacity.Charge time is about 82 minutes.

Availability

The Telit G82 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Conclusion

Telit's G82 is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Telit. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable.
