Telit GM 882 is announced in 2002

Design

The latter quickly became immensely popular and also the manufacturer's flagship, but with the advent of the GM 882, Telit has finally entrenched itself as an important player in the market for experienced users, the Telit GM 882 is slender and not very compact handset at 107 x 54 x 22 mm and 100 grams. The black and white display is ideal for text, messages and simple pictures like logos and picture massages. The display resolution 132 x 65 pixel is not very high but is normal for low class phone.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker.
Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the GM 882's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Telit handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.

Ergonomics

The GM 882 is not comfortable for hold in ones hand because it is too wide.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Telit handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial. Its keypad is as pleasing in use as its chassis is on the eyes: tactile feedback is excellent and all buttons are placed in a logical manner - quite a feat, considering GM 882's knack for quirky keypads. And last, but not least, a five-way joystick centered below the display.

Features

Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Telit GM 882 has to offer: there's also support for SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Email client, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of and spacious phone book..

Performance

Audio quality on the GM 882 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 550 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 6 hours talk time or 200 hours standby, which is very good for battery's theoretical capacity.Charge time is about 82 minutes.

Availability

The Telit GM 882 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Conclusion

Telit GM 882 is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Telit design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws.
