Telit NEO is announced in 2004

Design

Telit's NEO has a standard design for this class handsets, measuring 44 x 99 x 18 mm and 65 grams. Despite the weight it has a good feel in the hand, and the good shaped plastic body and styled highlights give it an attractive and nice look.The 16 bit - color display which is a little milky, dim and uneven, as well as having lower resolution than usual.The display resolution 128 x 128 pixel which is standart resolution for more mobile phones.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker.There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Telit handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.

Ergonomics

The NEO is not comfortable for hold in ones hand because it is too wide.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Telit handsets.The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial.

In the WAN department, the NEO boasts healthy support for Tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Java MIDP 2.0, 40-channels polyphony, a voice recorder, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of bluetooth high speed small range wireless device.GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book. and when it comes to storage the NEO offers 4 MB which is dynamically shared between images and J2ME applications.

Audio quality on the NEO was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 700 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 3 hours talk time or 200 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 105 minutes.

The Telit NEO is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Telit's NEO is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Telit. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable.
