Trium Eclipse is announced in 2001

Design

The latter quickly became immensely popular and also the manufacturer's flagship, but with the advent of the Eclipse, Trium has finally entrenched itself as an important player in the market for experienced users, the Trium Eclipse is slender and not very compact handset at 132 x 48 x 29 mm and 110 grams. The 256-color display unfortunately suffers from a very grainy appearance. The grainyness is not a problem when displaying text, however, just images - and due to the Eclipse first and foremost being a color phone, this is less of a problem than it could have been. The display resolution 128 x 144 pixel ideal for small and smart phone.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker.
Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the Eclipse's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Trium handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.

Ergonomics

The Eclipse is comfortable to hold and lies well in ones hand.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Trium handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.Unfortunately, the keypad of the Trium Eclipse emits excess noise, but on the bright side its keys have been comfortably spaced and sized. We're not entirely happy with the design of the navigational pad and its adjacent buttons, however, as distinguishing between these less easy than it ought to be.And last, but not least, a four-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

Features

Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Trium Eclipse has to offer: there's also support for GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , FAX/Modem, Loud Speaker, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of infrared old wireless device,GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book..

Performance

Audio quality on the Eclipse was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 700 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 3 hours talk time or 180 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 105 minutes.

Availability

The Trium Eclipse is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Conclusion

Trium Eclipse is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Trium design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws.
